Abstract

The Brazilian Lesbian Archive (ALB), established in 2020, is a collective effort to preserve lesbian memory in Brazil, challenging the historical invisibility of LGBTQIA+ experiences. ALB emphasizes the importance of archives as political and affective tools, subverting power structures and centralizing lesbian experiences. While connecting with traditions of resistance, the archive reimagines a plural and inclusive future, fostering debates on LGBTQIA+ memory and resistance, and destabilizing normative narratives.

Augusta da Silveira de Oliveira, Universidade Brown

Licenciada e Bacharel em História pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Mestra pela mesma instituição com bolsa do CNPq. Atualmente, é doutoranda em História da América Latina na Brown University com bolsa CAPES/Comissão Fulbright Brasil.
