Abstract

This essay reflects on the historical and artistic composition of museums in Brazil, highlighting the lack of discussions on gender, sexuality, and diversity. Based on the experience of the UFSC Museology course, the study discusses the creation of the extension project "Collection and Diversity" for the Museum of Sexual Diversity, aiming to develop methodologies that represent marginalized identities and fulfill the social function of museums. The analysis also emphasizes the need for museological training that embraces diverse narratives, overcoming the discourse of a "single story."
