O futuro professor gay

Abstract

The chronicle portrays the story of an intern and future gay teacher who reflects on some conflicts related to his sexuality. After a student asks about his relationship, he begins to think about his life, his insecurities, and his difficulties in accepting himself. Memories of his family, marked by a very religious and conservative view, still weigh on him and end up influencing his actions, generating fear, guilt, and denial. The text also addresses how all these issues affect the way he sees himself and relates to others, as well as his fear of prejudice. At the same time, throughout the text, important moments of his life emerge, such as entering university and his first (homo)affective experiences. In the end, a question arises about how to deal with all of this while being a teacher. The student’s question shows that he is still trying to understand himself better.
